Linux Resource Sites
- Linux OnLine
The linux.org domain was registered in May, 1994 by Michael McLagan to fill a gap in the growing Linux movement.
Designed to act as a central clearing house for information and promotion of Linux, this site tries to represent the hard
work of everyone involved with this operating system.
- RpmFind.Net
Here is a few informations on what you can find on this site:
- The Linux Kernel Archives
The Linux Kernel Archives is the primary site for the Linux kernel source, but it has much more than just kernels.
- Tucows Linux Howto
Here you will find all kinds of support for a number of Linux situations.
From Howto's to programming guides, this site carries a full library of technicial
documents dealing with the most advanced operating system ever. Most of
these documents come from the Linux Documentation Project.
- SourceForge
SourceForge is a free service to Open Source developers offering easy
access to the best in CVS, mailing lists, bug tracking, message boards/forums,
task management, site hosting, permanent file archival, full backups, and total
web-based administration.
- Slashdot
Slashdot was originally created in september of 97 by Rob "CmdrTaco" Malda. Today it is owned by
Andover.net. Slashdot is run primarily by Jeff "Hemos" Bates who posts stories, sells advertising,
and handles the book reviews and Robin "Roblimo" Miller who has recently come on board to help
handle some of the more managerial sides of the site, as well as (surprise!) posting stories.
- RTLinux
RTLinux[tm] is a hard real-time operating system that handles time-critical tasks and runs Linux as its lowest priority
execution thread. In RTLinux, a small hard-realtime kernel shares one or more processors with standard Linux. This allows
the system to run accurately timed applications to perform data acquisition, systems control and robotics, while still
serving as a standard Linux workstation.
- RTAI-Linux
Another real-time variant of Linux operating system, developed at Politecnico di Milano.
This is the one we are currently using in our reseach activity.
