Goals

The course is composed of two modules. The first one deals with advanced tools for the design of digital controllers: analytic design, adaptive control, application to electric drives. The second one with aspects related to electro-magnetic problems in industrial environments.

Topics

In particular, Part A illustrates the design techniques: pole/zero assignment, Dalhin and Deadbeat controllers; Adaptive ST Regulators with Least Squares estimation; Cascade control schemes with feedforward actions applied to electro drives. Part B: Introduction, with lectures and laboratory demos, of electromagnetic compatibility principles, techniques and standards with reference to industrial automation systems. The contents concern mainly testing and simulation of conducted emissions and immunity. Troubleshooting of interference is also considered.
