Abstract
This paper deals with the description of a procedure to evaluate reliability of a complex diagnosis system. By a four steps procedure it will be shown how to compute a reliability function associated to the whole system starting from the statistical description of the exogenous faults and from the reliability of the diagnosis subsystems devoted to faults detection. A simple example taken from the automotive field will be used to illustrate the procedure.
