Abstract
This article deals with the design of a three-wire shunt active filter based on a AC/DC converter. A methodology to select suitable values of the components is presented for two design objectives. The first one is to select components values strictly dependant on the level of current distortion imposed by the load. The second goal is to find the minimum capacitor value necessary to compensate all the possible loads compatible with a specific current size of the switches. Both the algorithms are based on a model inversion and are control-oriented.
